Today, I just read an article from the Newsweek. The article is about the potential trade war. President Trump just announced tariffs of 25 percent on steel and 10 percent on aluminum. However, World Trade Organization director general Roberto Azevedo said this practice would put the world at the risk of trade war and recession. Azevedo declared that the world can not afford to ignore the risk and should reflect on this situation carefully.
European Commission president Jean Claude said European also proposed tariff on new tariffs on American products like jeans and bourbon.
Similarly, Chinese foreign minister also stated that China would not let its interest be damaged without any move.
From my perspective, the practice of tariff would damage the interest of the world. If the USA imposed a high tariff, other countries would impose retaliation tariff against the USA. If this continues, the trade war would not stop.
Thus, all countries should avoid a trade war.
