Recently,  there is a shocking news about China that the Chinese ruling party is to drop the presidency term limit, which is to say that the current president has a potential to stay in office for his whole life times.
In the 1982 consititution of China, the law states that a president could stay in position for two term maximumly, with each term containing five years. This practice is set by government officals of that time to prevent one-man dictatorship.
From my perspective, the removal of the presidential term limits has advantages and disadvantages.
Advantage is the this practice could improve governmental efficiency. Due to the lack of conflicting power against the leader, the leader could make decision efficiently and put it into practice as soon as possible. Addtionally, as long as the leader could make the right decision, the whole country is on the right path for further developments.
However, it has also disadvatages. First, the leader could make wroung decisions. Because of the lack of the opposing force, mistakes could not be amended. History tells us a minor wrong decision can put a country into risk. Further, one-man politics has a problem of power succession. If the leader is ill, that could be a tough issue to deal with.
In summary, whether this practice is good or not, I always hopes the best of my country.
